My Happy Place: Exit stage right

  • Ivan Pope · 4 months ago
Way to go, James. You've always been spot on and helpful and I loved Spinvox (even if everyone who phoned me seemed to hate it!) Best of luck for the next stage.

    James,

You've done a great job and stood front-and-centre in the middle of the recent furore. The ups *and downs* will be a great benefit for your future employer / clients.

Best of luck... you won't need it.

Two things. (1) *hint* - James llikes lunch at Ping Pong! (2) whoever gets to work with you will be very lucky indeed. I'm watching with excitement.
  • Jonathan · 4 months ago
Good luck James - looks like you've had to put up with a whole load of crap (and much fun too...) in the last couple of months, wish you well in whatever awesomeness you inevitably end up in next...
  • James Burland · 4 months ago
Dude! Following your antics is always an adventure. I can not wait to see where you go next. Loving your Lucozade work by the way, boy did they ever pick the right man for the job!

I've always thought that you'd do well in TV, any doors opening for you there? Any doors you can kick open? ^_-

As Ben said, you won't be needing luck.
  • Jon Mulholland · 4 months ago
Best of luck with whatever you move onto James. Do keep us all informed. I did hear that Forrester might be looking for a new Social Media Analyst... (http://www.web-strategist.com/blog/2009/08/20/t...)

Seriously though, there's a couple of opportunities I'm working on at the moment - if either take off I'll definitely drop you a line.

  • CT Moore · 4 months ago
I remember when you first hinted at this. I'm interested to see what you do next. I just turned a page in my career, as well.

And BTW, I still hate you for having such an awesome summer. I also hate the British postal service for never getting that package to you; there was a note in there I think you needed to read.

In any case, enough about me. Back to you: good luck, old man...
  • nick bouton · 4 months ago
Congrats on the move, and let us know where you end up! Curious to see what your next endeavour will be. Drop me a line if you're ever out in my neck of the woods (Vancouver).

    Cheers!

Good luck, I wish you much success for the future! I'm sure this industry will continue to benefit from the Whatleydude for a long time to come!

All the best. Go do something... unexpected ;-)
  • nicholas butler · 4 months ago
Out of interest did you have any trouble posting this to draft from your blackberry ? no ? oh well !

In the meanwhile I would first say Best Of Luck to you good sir and as many have pointed out dont believe the full time employment hype. The only person looking out for your next move is you. Youve gained some valuable credit and experience in being both the pinata and pressman for Spinvox and I for one am going to miss the presence of our Orange Cubed headed overlords.

Enjoy the down time and I look forward to you being truly really mobile in the future.

    All the best.

Would say sorry to see you go, but am sure that we'll have plenty of opportunites to work together again in future and handily there is a Ping Pong just around the corner from PN towers.

Good luck with whatever comes next, you'll be stellar at it.

You've been doing a great job when the shit hit the fan at Spinvox. The openness and transparency of your replies to questions were unparalleled in the computer biz.

Unfortunately, your successors are already reverting to the "bad old ways"...
  • Anjali · 3 months ago
hey dude - just saw this. all the very best for whatever your next gig is. i'm sure i'll see you around soon enough. :)

    Mate,

I was away on holidays and then at a Conference and I missed this huge BOMB. Wow! I hope things go well in the future and you find something amazing to take you forward into the future.

All the best your mate in Canada!
